Scarless breast augmentation is also known as transaxillary breast augmentation because the incision is placed in the armpit, or axillary area. Instead of incisions under the breast or around the areola (which are common incision locations for breast implant placement), transaxillary breast augmentation uses incisions strategically placed within the natural creases of the armpit.

How Is Scarless Breast Augmentation Performed?
During your scarless breast implant consultation, you will choose your breast implant size; type, saline or silicone; and placement, submuscular or subglandular. Your surgery is performed using general anesthesia and takes about 45 minutes. Once the 1.5-inch armpit incision is made, Dr. Lo uses an endoscopic system to create a pocket for placement of the implants. If you are receiving silicone implants, he uses a Keller funnel to place the implants, which allows for hands-free placement, reducing the likelihood of infection and capsular contracture. Once your breast implants are in position, the small incisions are closed, and you are moved to recovery.
